Sarat Dutt Lallah, CEO of Mauritius Telecom, is an ICT consultant and has held positions of Manager, Computer Department and Software Manager of a leading Mauritian group. In 1991, he launched his own company. From July 1997 to September 2000, he served as Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology and also occupied, concurrently, the post of Minister of Social Security and National Solidarity from October 1997 to September 1999.

 He has also served as Chairman of the National Computer Board and of the Telecommunication Advisory Council and as member of the Steering Committee of African Ministers of Telecommunications.
