Tariq Habib brought a decade of experience with entrepreneurial spirit in design & business management of complex ICT systems, in such areas as telecommunications, Internet and e-business, when he came on board in 1999.

As Chief Technology Officer-Comtrust, he spearheaded Etisalat’s business diversification strategy based around emerging technologies in the area of Internet and e-business.

Soon after joining, in early 2000, launching of Comtrust was not only a big step for Etisalat but proved a pioneering and visionary step in sowing the seeds for digital economy. By creating a network of partnerships, Habib helped spur numerous initiatives in a region as wide as MENA and South East Asia. As a founder and architect of Comtrust and its services, he is well credited for creating the net positive effect on economies and intellectual capital of this region.

Today, as Head of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships at Etisalat Corporate Marketing, Tariq Habib is directly responsible for the growth of future business through delivery of complex and integrated ICT solutions. He is also responsible for building strategic capacity by forging partnerships with the industry leaders.
